Principal Responsibility

St. Anthony’s Workforce Development Program (WDP) serves the community by providing job readiness training, career development services, job search, and job coaching to individuals residing at Father Alfred Center or with individual guests living in San Francisco who seek St. Anthony’s services. The Workforce Development Program offers guests an opportunity to build skills, secure transitional employment, and achieve employment success long-term. In the spirit of St. Anthony’s mission and our Franciscan values and heritage, our team provides compassion and care daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Workforce Development & Transitional Employment

  • Project management and administrative support in the delivery of training, workshops, presentations, including clerical duties and the professional presentation of teaching materials
  • Database management (Salesforce), updating contact information of guests, transitional employees, and external partners
  • Data collection – create workflows that foster the smooth collection of data (using ETO and other evaluation software)
  • Scheduling of training and coordination with internal partners (FAC, Companionship)
  • Create communications systems that ensure timely coordination of efforts
  • Compile data and build reports
  • Scheduling of team meetings, retreats, cross-departmental meetings
  • Create systems that coordinate training services, training plans, and manages completion deadlines
  • Collaborate with the Companionship Program to create comprehensive support services for guests
  • Provide administrative support to WFD team in scheduling, tracking (in ETO) and maintaining after-care communication touchpoints at 30, 60, and 90 day benchmarks following Basic training delivery
  • Compile evaluation data and run reports, including graphics
  • Schedule, track and maintain participant attendance and performance (ETO) in WDP opportunities
  • Enter data and information electronically as required in a timely fashion

Operations

  • Understand and uphold organization’s policies and procedures
  • Apply innovative approaches to daily workflows, service delivery, and employee engagement
  • Manage budgets, process purchase orders, prepare invoices as appropriate
  • Build and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with team members and SAF colleagues, collaboratively work with others to achieve team success.
  • Coordinate efforts with key partners at Father Alfred Center, Companionship Program, and Community Safety Services, including scheduling, departmental meetings and email and phone correspondence
  • Maintain professional learning materials & resources: binders, handouts, journals; use consistent branding
  • Order office and program supplies in accordance with purchasing guidelines
  • Complete timesheets and expense reports with accurancy and in a timely fashion (within current pay period)
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and high-pressure situations in a calm and productive manner and to make referrals to other departments when appropriate
  • Practice direct, respectful, open, and honest communication with colleagues
  • Proactively seek support from team members or management
  • Represent the Workforce Development and Transitional Employment team and its work within the SAF Community including at town halls, special events and other required meetings
  • Consistently demonstrate integrity and SAF’s values while representing St. Anthony’s at public events

Minimum Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office 365, with particular expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required) with additional graphic design skills (desired)
  • Familiarity with Customer Management Systems (CMS), i.e. Salesforce, UltiPro, and similar software applications
  • Ability to interact and build trusting relationships with colleagues, volunteers, donors, managers and senior leaders
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills, ability to influence and educate
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills and systems including information and communication technologies
  • Ability to uphold the highest levels of professionalism and serve as role models for our guests
  • Demonstrated experience setting professional boundaries with clients/guests who may be vulnerable
  • Commitment to St. Anthony’s Foundation Statement of Values, Mission and Goals
  • Experience working in a non-profit or community-based social service agency with people experiencing homelessness and/or poverty (desired)
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in adult education, workforce and professional development
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment
  • BA or equivalent work experience
