Principal Responsibility 

St. Anthony’s Transitional Employment Program (TEP) serves the community by providing job readiness training, career development services, job search, and job coaching to individuals seeking meaningful employment and financial stability. The TEP offers guests an opportunity to build skills, secure transitional employment, and achieve employment success long-term. In the spirit of St. Anthony’s mission and our Franciscan values and heritage, our team provides compassion and care daily. 

As a steward of healing and social justice, you are expected to meet the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruiter 

• In collaboration with the Director, design Human Resource phone screening questions for Transitional Employment (TE) applicants; 

• Contact by phone, each guest who completes an interest form, assess their job readiness, and make referrals for pre-employment training, job application, other St. Anthony Foundation (SAF) services, or partnered agencies. Individuals must be contacted within one week of completing the TE Interest Form.

• Work closely with hiring managers to learn and understand departmental hiring needs, skills required, etc.;

• Develop applicant pool and refer qualified candidates to hiring managers for onsite interviews.

• Create systems that track and monitor TE intake and TE candidate progress including data collection using our effort-to-outcome (ETO) system, and eventually Salesforce and prepare weekly metrics reports.

• Implement database management systems using Salesforce, updating contact information of guests, transitional employees, and external partners.

• Manage candidate disposition in Recruiter Gateway (UKG)and document progress accordingly.

• Create a communications plan that keeps in touch with applicants and provides them with updates about their candidacy, training schedules, and other employment opportunities.

• Facilitate Open Houses and other special events that provide groups of guests with information about Transitional Employment and connects them to employment services. Coordinate with partner agencies when feasible.

• Create communications systems that ensure timely coordination of efforts and deliver consistent messages to applicants (in collaboration with Human Resources).

• Coordinate efforts with the SAF Welcome Center when it comes to guest employment needs. 

Job Developer

• Using established career pathways and external relationships, identify available job, training, and educational opportunities for TE employees completing their 6-month program; 

• Work with hiring manager to determine next logical steps for TE employees in the workforce.

• In collaboration with the Director, and SAF’s Corporate Relations Manager, identify and establish new external partnerships (corporate for-profit and nonprofit) that will yield compassionate employer and training opportunities.

• Develop and facilitate Memorandums of Agreement including guaranteed interviews and other collaborative activities that move transitional employees toward employment stability.

• Recruit employers for Job Fairs, Open Houses and other special events.

• Manage partnership database using Salesforce.

Operations

• Work collaboratively with the TE Team’s Administrative Coordinator on scheduling logistics, coordinating training completion and other administrative tasks.

• Compile data,build reports, and present results from ETO and Salesforce to demonstrate applicant progress, trends and areas of focus

• Apply innovative approaches to daily workflows and service delivery.Enter data and information electronically weekly, keeping information up to date and accurate. 

• Understand, uphold and model organization’s policies and procedures.

• Build and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with team members and SAF colleagues, collaboratively work with others to achieve team success.

• Complete timesheets and expense reports with accuracy within current pay period.

• Ability to respond to emergencies and high-pressure situations in a calm and productive manner and to make referrals to other departments when appropriate.

• Practice direct, respectful, open, and honest communication with colleagues.

• Proactively seek support from team members or management.

• Represent the Workforce Development and Transitional Employment team and its work within the SAF Community including at town halls, special events and other required meetings.

• Consistently demonstrate integrity and SAF’s values while representing St. Anthony’s at public events.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Human Resources, HR Recruiting, and HR Policies.Proven experience interviewing, evaluating skills and abilities through verbal interaction with candidates.

• Ability to instinctively determine work and life experience gained and skills needed to be successful candidates. 

• Demonstrated experience in Project Management.

• Familiarity with UKG systems.

• Familiarity with Customer Management Systems (CMS), i.e. Salesforce, UltiPro, and similar software applications desirable.

• Microsoft Office 365, with particular expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required); 

• Ability to interact and build trusting relationships with colleagues, volunteers, donors, managers and senior leaders

• Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills, ability to influence and educate

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills and systems including information and communication technologies 

• Ability to uphold the highest levels of professionalism and serve as role models for our guests 

• Ability to adapt, modify, shift and adjust according to the needs of the foundation and the candidates. Flexibility is essential.

• Demonstrated experience setting professional boundaries with clients/guests who may be vulnerable

• Commitment to St. Anthony’s Foundation Statement of Values, Mission and Goals 

• Experience working in a non-profit or community-based social service agency with people experiencing homelessness and/or poverty (desired)

• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in adult education, workforce and professional development

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment

Position Details

• Location: 100 Block of Golden Gate, San Francisco, CA

• Hours: 40 hours/week, non-exempt; Mon-Fri 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m (flexible.) Occasional evenings/weekends

• Pay Range: ($68,000-$73-000)

• Reports to: Director of Workforce Development & Transitional Employment
