SST Direct is Hiring an Electrical Estimator Near Madison, WI

Seeking a very detailed oriented Estimator that is able to read plans, be a team player, and have great customer service skills for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Dubuque, IA!This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401kSalary is between $68,000 to $75,000 per year (based on experience)Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pmIn this role you will answer sales calls from customers, review plans and specs to determine if it is a project that can be bid on and if so, provide customers with an accurate bid in a timely manner. Duties also include pricing over-the-counter tickets for fellow employees and answering pricing questions for fellow employees.Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate contract documents and collaborate with the sales team to strategize bidding approaches.
  • Stay abreast of upcoming building construction projects in the Dubuque area, assessing suitability for bids.
  • Address architectural queries regarding hardware specifications.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with Architects and Contractors.
  • Customize hardware solutions for Design-Build projects in collaboration with Contractors.
  • Acquire project plans and specs, ensuring accurate and timely bid development.
  • Mitigate risk by identifying discrepancies in construction documents and initiating requests for information.
  • Conduct meticulous take-offs and estimates using specialized spreadsheets, covering material, freight, engineering, and installation costs.
  • Expedite the delivery of manufacturer quotes within project timelines.
  • Review colleagues' queries and quotations for accuracy in both verbiage and pricing.
Qualifications:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in estimating role.
  • Proficiency in the construction industry, including specific knowledge of doors, frames, hardware, codes, standards, architectural drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills for data gathering, problem-solving, and prioritization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient multitasking ability.
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills, with entry-level proficiency in MS Excel.
