We are recruiting a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who is reliable, flexible, compassionate, and understanding. This position is to assist a young man, in his early 30's with enjoying his life. The DSP will need to assist him with daily physical-related tasks, such as hygiene, bathroom needs, getting dressed, eating, and enjoying outdoor activities. We are looking for someone who enjoys video games, dining, and bowling, the mall, Dave and Busters, the pool, who has a great sense of humor, and who communicates well. The client can't move any part of his body so this DSP (along with their partner- 2:1 staffing) will have to help him do everything.

The ideal candidate should have experience/education in helping intellectually disabled individuals achieve independence. Candidates must understand they will need to assist the client with all their day-to-day tasks. The DSP should be a creative thinker, disciplined, organized, understanding, fun to be with and a good problem solver. Overall, to be a DSP that can assist him in achieving what's important to him and for him.

Hours available: Morning/Afternoon/Evening shifts available during the week or 13.5 hour shifts available 3 days per week.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift
• Must have a reliable vehicle
• Must be CPR-certified
• Must be a team player
• Must have one of the Degrees/Certifications listed in that section

Degrees/Certifications:

• Current Nursing License
• NADD Competency-Based Clinical Certification
• NADD Competency-Based Dual Diagnosis Certification
• NADD Competency-Based Support Professional Certification
• Registered Behavior Technician
• Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst

BA or Higher in - Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Gerontology, or Therapeutic Recreation

Note: The client needs a DSP with critical thinking skills and is attentive to detail

Salary: Is competitive for the right candidate: $35.82 per hour
