The structural engineer position is under the direct supervision of the Engineering Team Leader (ETL). The position provides application of engineering fundamentals to the design of structural systems. Performs assignments designed to develop professional work skills and knowledge, and to carry out a sequence of related engineering/planning tasks, using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Work may include bridge work (girder, suspension, arch, truss, bascule, lift and swing), long span roof structures, buildings, retaining walls and various other types of building and construction.

To be successful in this role, a structural design engineer should have a strong understanding of engineering principles, as well as experience with different software and tools (i.e. CAD, Revit, etc). They should also possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals. A bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredit university is required. Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred. Prior relevant experience in engineering and construction is a plus. Professional License required for E-IV level.
