About the Team
The SS&C Intralinks SRE team are the guardians of production and production adjacent applications supporting the Intralinks customer experience. The SRE team ensures uninterrupted service delivery to Intralinks’ clients using advanced automation, devops tools and acts as the gateway before new features can be released to production. The SRE team is the escalation point for complex customer incidents and helps drive service restoration in cases of degradation.
Overview
The Director, Site Reliability Engineering leads a 24x7 team of engineers responsible for the sustained reliable operation of Intralinks applications. This highly technical leader will work closely with our Technical Support Team, Global Operations Center, Service Management, Research and Development and Infrastructure Operations teams to ensure that the Intralinks suite of applications is efficient, fast, and well instrumented for optimal observability and performance.
  • Evaluates, from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties, and techniques used in production.
  • Advises design engineering on selection, application and test of electronic components and systems.
  • Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
  • Determines reliability requirements of components and systems to achieve company, customer, and security reliability objectives.
  • Develops new acceleration techniques and analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, processes, and product reliability.
  • Makes recommendations for changes the selection and application of components and systems.
  • May propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.
  • Leader with broad operational or functional responsibilities who participates with other senior leaders or executives establish and ensure the achievement of strategic plans and objectives.
  • Demonstrates in-depth company knowledge, specialized skills, and influence to solve critical and complex issues.
  • Participates in the development and administration of broad-scope programs and projects that have significant impact on operational or functional success.
Day To Day
  • Building diagnostic and analytical tools that improve the MTTA, MTTD and MTTR.
  • Building systems/site monitoring tools for system health and APIs to ensure smooth operations of production systems
  • Writes software, scripts and automaton for monitoring production systems
  • Validate and verify software deliverables for production readiness.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation of changes to the production systems
Minimum Experience
  • Experience leading a team of engineers in a 24x7 uptime SaaS environment.
  • Strong work experience in Unix/Linux, Windows, AWS and Azure.
  • Strong knowledge Java Web-based enterprise applications.
  • Strong work experience and troubleshooting skills in Kubernetes systems
  • Strong work experience in Microservices using Kubernetes and container applications
  • Working experience of AWS with CloudWatch, EKS, EFS, S3, RedShift and other AWS services
  • Working experience in using AWS tools to troubleshoot applications (resource constraints, connectivity, alerting, and monitoring)
  • Sound knowledge in one of the major programming languages (such as Java) and performance tuning.
  • Ability to automate mundane tasks using shell scripts, python etc.
  • Working Knowledge in basic networking and various application and transport protocols
  • HTTP(s), JMS and etc.
  • TCP, UDP
  • Experience working with one or more of the following: Splunk, Dynatrace, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
  • Experience working with messaging subsystems: RabbitMQ, Interconnect, AMQ.
  • Working experience working with Jenkins, GIT
Preferred
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in developing Software projects/applications.
  • Experience leading a diverse team of engineers in a global workforce.
