Building Maintenance/Janitor
Seeking a full time building maintenance person for a retail center. Eligibility for employment is contingent upon passing a background check. Serious inquiries only.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for helping to maintain the entire property in an attractive, comfortable condition
• Assists in trash pickup on the property including but not limited to litter, debris, cigarette butts, etc.
• Assists in all types of cleaning, when necessary and as requested.
• Have a firm grasp of which types of cleaning chemicals are to be used for each job--and be sure not to mix ones that could be toxic
• Professional, organized and work quickly
• Detailed, giving special attention to each task
• Endurance needed for the job - Most have to spend entire workdays on their feet
• Strong work ethic and a positive approach
• Work well alone, as well as with a member of a team
• Able to follow the instruction of a supervisor
• The activities listed below are not all inclusive; however, they are indicative of the types of activities normally performed by Maintenance.
• Helps clean grounds and all common areas daily.
• Complete all duties regarding cleaning of the following:
• Wipe down appliances and furniture
• Windows
• Clean / Polish Floors
• Bathroom fixtures
• Vacuuming
• Light fixtures – inside and outside
• Outlet covers
• Light bulb changing/replacement
• Assists in maintaining inventory of cleaning and bathroom supplies.
• Notify Building Manager of burned out light bulbs, broken globes, etc., in units and throughout the exterior of the property, as needed.
• Observes condition of property in general and reports and/or initiates action to correct any unusual circumstances or unsafe conditions.
• Cleans up thoroughly after performing work.
• Ensures that storage areas remain locked when not in use.
• Follows company procedures regarding safety and emergencies.
• Attends employee meetings and training seminars, as requested.
• Wears company uniform and badge during work hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Cleaning: 1 year (Preferred)
