Loan Agency Tax and Payments Analyst Position Summary

The Loan Agency Tax and Payments Analyst works in SRSA’s Loan Agency department and is responsible for validating all tax reporting data provided by payees, reconciling, preparing, delivering, and filing year-end tax forms as well as process payments, payment reconciliation and any required or requested reporting, answering inquiries, and performing other related tasks. Serve as a contact for clients, lenders and both internal and external service partners. Manage daily administration of assigned tasks in a fast-paced setting, requiring exceptional customer service skills and a constant awareness of internal controls and risk management.

This is a hybrid position with in-person and remote schedule flexibility that can reside in Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN

The salary range for this position is between $65,000k - $77,000k, depending on level of experience.

Tax filing and preparation of tax documents knowledge is required.

Loan Agency Tax and Payments Analyst Primary Responsibilities

  • Receive, validate, and route individual payment and tax documents appropriately.
  • Review & validate deal-level tax reporting data throughout the year to reconcile, generate, deliver, and file year-end tax forms.
  • Collaborate with team to complete quarterly payment reconciliation for annual tax reporting.
  • Assist with creating and reviewing payments for Loan Agency (ad hoc, payment uploads for scheduled payments, wires for fundings).
  • Generate required and requested reports for internal and external parties related to tax reporting data or payments.
  • Respond to inquiries related to tax documents, tax reporting and payments.
  • Comprehend internal processes and procedures while maintaining internal controls.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients and parties, both internal and external, to ensure all have an exceptional experience.
  • Research and resolve issues related to administration and client service in connection with assigned tasks.
  • Use judgement, interpretation and problem-solving to understand loan related information.
  • Professionally communicate and collaborate with internal groups and external clients by phone and email.
  • Perform data entry in tax database, banking platforms, loan system and Microsoft Excel.
  • Provide coverage and support to the team, when needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Loan Agency Tax and Payments Analyst Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or operations (or commensurate work experience) required.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in finance, loan agency or bank operations.
  • Understanding of US tax forms (i.e. W-9, W-8BEN-E, W-8IMY, W-8ECI, etc) and general knowledge of 1099 and 1042 filings.
  • Understanding of syndicated and bilateral loans preferred.
  • Familiarity with wire domestic and international wire instructions preferred.
  • Ability to independently research, analyze and resolve complex problems and quickly learn new concepts.
  • Strong drive to achieve results and the ability to self-motivate in the face of multiple priorities while managing time efficiently.
  • Deadline-driven and highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good judgement and intuition, and the ability to communicate with external and internal parties in a responsive, friendly, professional, and proactive approach.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with management and team members to align goals and complete all tasks.
  • Demonstrate integrity in day-to-day administration of duties and all interactions with internal and external parties.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Business and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of proficiency with computers and learning new software.

Loan Agency Tax and Payments Analyst Additional Requirements
