Square One is a private nonprofit organization in Springfield, Mass. Our programs include early education and care, home-based care settings located throughout Springfield and out of school time care for elementary school age children. Our parent education, support and training programs are offered through groups, home visitation and personalized case management to help parents access whatever services are needed to be successful in their role as their child’s first teacher.

We are currently looking for a CPPI Early Education Coach interested in joining our team.

Education Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

· Department of Early Education and Care Lead Teacher certification

Qualifications:

· A minimum of 1 years’ experience in early childhood administration and leadership

· A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience coaching

· A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a lead teacher in a preschool setting

· Experience working with children with special needs

· Knowledge of and experience with EEC licensing regulations

· Knowledge and experience with the CLASS observation tool

· Knowledge and experience with reflective supervision and/or the PBC model

· Strong leadership and organizational skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Must maintain confidentiality in a professional manner

· Ability to be self-directed and problem solve

· Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 119, Section 51A you are a mandated reporter and held to the statutory reporting requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Travel, within Springfield, to 3 locations to provide coaching and educator PLC’s

· Develop a positive working relationship with the Springfield Public School members involved in the CPPI grant

· Work in partnership with the community based organizations involved in the CPPI grant

· Conduct classroom observations to support educators in developing individual and classroom goals

· Use completed CLASS observation reports to support educators in developing individual and classroom goals

· Facilitate weekly classroom coaching sessions based on individual and classroom goals

· Facilitate monthly educator PLC’s on topics relative to the program

· Model developmentally appropriate practice for classroom educators and provide direct instruction if necessary

· Responsible for overseeing and ensuring completion of all reports and forms

· Monthly, or as needed, meet with program director to review coaching sessions

· Must have reliable transportation

· All other duties as assigned

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
