SUMMARY

Oversees and manages all physical manufacturing facilities for the company, including equipment, buildings, building systems and grounds. Implements and maintains the Environmental, Health and Safety program.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Demonstrate leadership with team building skills, communication, planning and providing clear direction
  • Oversee and manage all physical manufacturing facilities for the company, including equipment, buildings, building systems and grounds
  • Hire, develop and retain qualified staff
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained to perform assigned duties safely, with high quality and within the expected time frame
  • Provide training and encourage growth in departmental employees
  • Perform employee performance evaluations
  • Manage outside contractors for work on facilities and equipment
  • Troubleshoot facilities/equipment issues
  • Maintain spare parts, oils and lubricants
  • Maintain departmental budgets
  • Research & recommend facilities needs and equipment
  • Prepare cost estimates for upgrades and new equipment
  • Perform feasibility and capabilities studies (validation & verification)
  • Research cap equipment and make recommendations
  • Prepare plans and schedules for installing equipment
  • Establish annual budget for maintenance, repairs and upgrades of existing equipment
  • Establish robust facilities and predictive/preventative maintenance program; including overhead lifting and material handling equipment
  • Establish robust machinery & equipment capabilities program
  • Develop a controlled process to manage jigs & fixtures used in manufacturing
  • Evaluate the condition of existing equipment and make recommendations for disposition
  • Carries out inspection of the facility to identify and resolve issues, to include; electrical, HVAC, plumbing, security systems, fire sprinkler systems, yard and parking lot maintenance
  • Maintains and updates the company’s safety program in accordance with federal, state, and other regulatory requirements
  • Plans and implements internal safety programs and files regulatory reports in compliance with the local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Assists with annual department goals according to key metrics (ex- lost time accidents) that are measured throughout the organization.
  • Plans, implements, and oversees the company safety program including safety committee planning and oversight
  • Provide leadership in developing, implementing and managing EH&S policies, programs and practices.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains the company’s safety training and certification program.
  • Inspects company facilities (safety audits) to detect existing or potential incident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Assists with the investigation of all incidents and injuries from initial report to closure
  • Support and promote the values and all polices & procedures of Springs Fabrication
  • Understand fully Springs Fabrication’s policy statement, commitment to 5S and safety.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining assigned employees. Conflict resolution and coaching as needed.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BA or BS in Manufacturing and/or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a facilities/maintenance management role
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing and maintaining EHS program


SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, automation and manufacturing equipment (types, capabilities and applications)
  • Experience as a millwright or working closely with millwright services
  • Experience with complex lifting and rigging
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of bridge cranes and hoists
  • Ability to operate most machine shop & fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, Press Breaks, Shears, Saws, Welding Stations, Presses, Punches, etc.
  • Familiar with CNC controls
  • Familiar with high and low voltage electrical
  • Familiar with security systems, fire sprinkler systems, HVAC, plumbing, etc.


Position type: Full-time, exempt

Pay range: $90,000-$115,000 annually, DOE
