Springfield School District is seeking a Mental Health Clinician who will provide mental health services and support to students and families in collaboration with other school team members. The clinician will meet with students who have been identified by the IEP team and will work with the students existing mental health professionals.

Responsibilities may include:

•Goal-oriented mental health intervention and counseling to confront barriers to learning
•Crisis and de-escalation counseling within the school day
•Risk assessments - Suicidal idealization/homicidal idealization
•Assess tier level in regards to mental health - complete outside referrals when needed
•Psychoeducation for students, teachers, and families
•Assist in case consult and student education planning
•Treatment planning - how to support a student’s mental health within the school environment to achieve their academic goals
•Support in referring to long term mental health treatment if needed - e.g. individual/group therapy, hospitalization, rehab,
residential

Requirements:

•Flexibility and a history of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
•Interest in working with a diverse student population with difficult behaviors
•Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field required
•Preferred License in Social Work, License in Mental Health Counseling, or related field
•Experience in the implementation of positive behavior supports and proactive engagement with difficult students.
