Job Summary:
An Instructional Paraeducator assists a teacher in providing instruction to students. Duties may include, but are not limited to, follow-up activities to a teacher’s lessons, small group or individual student support, assistance in preparing materials, assistance in record keeping, and implementation of behavioral management systems, supervision of student personal care, and supervision of students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
Supervision Received: Reports to, receives daily work assignments, and is evaluated by Supervising Teacher and Building Administrator.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: All conditions common to an education environment, but not limited to, the following (Frequency Codes described above.) Work is normally performed in a climate controlled office/building environment, with limited exposure to extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes, and gases. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of classroom and outdoor areas. No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine.
Kneeling: Bending the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knee or knees.
Crawling: Moving about on the hands and knees.
Reaching: Extending the hands and arms in any direction.
Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands.
