COACHING STIPEND

Coaching stipends are split into three installments (1/3 each month) and paid on the 25th of the month.

ABOUT THE POSITION 

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Head Baseball Coach at Springfield High School for the 2024-2025 School Year. This person is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the OSAA, adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of Springfield High School, Springfield School District and the OSAA. Springfield High School is committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse student and staff population, so we seek candidates with demonstrated potential to contribute positively to our diverse community. The Head Coach is expected to conduct him/herself in a loyal, honest, responsible, ethical and professional manner at all times.

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:

REQUIRED:

  • Coaching experience at the JV and/or varsity level;
  • Baseball knowledge and playing experience;
  • Ability to work with high school students;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Ability to work within district guidelines and budget;
  • Must have all OSAA and NFHS certifications, as well as First Aid and EPI certifications;
  • Available for daily practices and games;
  • Ability to be District Van certified;
  • Ability and commitment to practice cultural competency and demonstrate diversity.

DESIRED:

  • 3-5 years of coaching experience at the high school level or beyond;
  • Experience working with high school students;
  • Capable and knowledgeable with regard to fundraising;
  • Understanding of OSAA rules and regulations;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Ability to work with individuals and large groups;
  • Ability to work with parents and boosters;
  • Ability to work with local youth baseball organizations;
  • Knowledge and capability to perform routine field maintenance and improvements.
