Springfield Emergency Veterinary Hospital at The Regional Veterinary Referral Center is looking for part time and full time Emergency Veterinary Technicians, AM, PM and Overnight!

Position Overview: The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. You will access patients, provide diagnostics, treatments, and nursing care, monitor anesthesia, assist in surgery and maintain patient medical records.

Hospital Overview: The Regional Veterinary Referral Center is a compassionate, progressive, client centered specialty and referral hospital in Springfield, VA that offers Cardiology, Dermatology, Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Rehabilitative Therapy, and Surgery with onsite CATScan, MRI and Radiocat I-131 treatment available.

Essential Functions:

• Assessing animal needs through triaging patients, obtaining histories and obtaining and recording vital signs.
• Providing patient care, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications.
• Assisting in exams and surgeries, preparing supplies, and restraining animals.
• Dispensing and documenting medication administration.
• Maintaining a safe and compliant environment.
• Updating accurate medical records.
• Proficiency in emergency medicine and critical care with procedures like catheter placement phlebotomy, processing laboratory samples and digital radiology

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/experience.
• One or more years of experience as a veterinary technician performing the mentioned duties.
• Preferred certifications: CVT, LVT, RVT, or LVMT. Candidates with VTS-ECC are encouraged to apply!
• Capable of physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, constant motion, and cleaning.
• Comfortable working with sick animals, hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.
• Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.

Shift Availability

Full Time:

• 3, fixed day (Friday through Sunday), 12.5 hour shifts/week, 7 am - 7:30 pm
• 4, fixed day (Wednesday through Saturday), 9.5 hour shifts/week, 4 pm - 1:30 am.
• 4, fixed day (Wednesday through Saturday), 9.5 hour shifts/week, 10 pm - 7:30 am
• 4, fixed day (Thursday through Sunday), 9.5 hour shifts/week, 10 pm - 7:30 am

Part Time:

• 10:30 am - 8 pm Fridays
• 4 pm - 1:30 am Thursdays or Fridays
• 10 pm - 7:30 am Wednesdays and/or Saturdays
