Springfield Clinic is Hiring an ASC Business Operations Analyst Near Springfield, IL

The ASC Business Operations Analyst is responsible for using critical thinking and problem solving skills to mine and interpret data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and strengthen processes. This position will identify and investigate key business problems and provide data driven reports and dashboards relevant to the financial and clinical operations. The ASC Business Operations Analyst will facilitate departmental implementation with automation of key workflows including stakeholder alignment and onboarding.

Reports to the Director of Operations - Ambulatory Surgery Center

Principal Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Leadership team to proactively identify opportunities for improvement in workflow efficiencies, financial solutions, and improved programming.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements to design and implement a robust and automated analytic solution to support business needs and set performance targets.
  • Ability to use appropriate skills in the areas of: project coordination, multi-tasking, prioritization of demands, group discussion, data validation and presentation, training, facilitation, decision-making, communication, and time management.
  • Assess existing data availability, identify data gaps and limitations, and collaborate with the data team and BI/IT business partners to develop approaches in closing data gaps or misalignments.
  • Apply understanding of the underlying statistical concepts and computational approaches that enable efficient execution of models and design and implement modifications and enhancements to the computations.
  • Construct and deliver written reports of findings, formulating recommendations and effectively presenting results to non-analytical business partners.
  • Configure technology and applications to meet the requirements of the clinical departments utilizing clinical information systems, while maintaining and promoting enterprise standards.
  • Assist with ROIs and data collection for new procedures. Track reimbursement once new procedures are implemented to ensure profitability.
  • Evaluate, deploy and troubleshoot reports within SIS including but not limited to quality measures, volumes, costing, financials, scheduling, equipment, supplies and medications. Run daily reports to ensure quality measures re being properly documented.
  • Produce needed/required reports on designated schedule and ad hoc including consistent Board Packet materials for all sites of surgery under the Clinic's Governance structure.
  • Monitor Case loss reports to ensure profitability of cases performed
  • Collaborate with IT and Clinical Informatics on any needed or scheduled interfaces and platform upgrades. Be available to consult, plan, test and validate, when possible.
  • Support organizational QA activities by assisting other information technology teams with verification and validation of any new application build and modification
  • Consistently monitor department and provider monthly operational metrics such as productivity standards, purchasing process, and decisions related department finances. Recommend and identify internal/external resources to facilitate course correction when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal and external purchasing department stakeholders to ensure contract metrics are aligned and maintain/improve procurement workflows for the ASC.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Operations required. MBA or MHA preferred.
  • Two (2) years perioperative experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification, Change Management, or PMP preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with data mining tools and concepts required
  • Experience in graphic development and presentation
  • Ability to critically think, listen and excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on various high level projects and within a team environment
  • Experience with tableau and proficient in developing Tableau dashboards required.
  • Proficient in MS Suite applications, Prezi
  • Business and computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.

Working Environment

  • Surgical Center Office with potential work from home. May require travel.
  • Requires sitting, bending, stretching and light manual lifting.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Use of telephone with manual dexterity required for use of keyboard.
