Job Summary: Springfield Area Parent Child Center is seeking several cleaning staff to support the upkeep and cleaning of their three buildings. This is a flexible position depending on the availability of a qualified candidate. 10-20 hours per week could be split between 2-4 days and can be done anytime outside of regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm). Additional hours would be requested periodically. Essential Functions:

Daily cleaning of childcare center includes:

• Vacuum rugs, sweep and mop floors in childcare
• Dust throughout as needed
• Disinfect door handles/light fixtures
• Clean and disinfect children’s bathroom toilets, sinks and faucets
• Mop childcare bathroom floors with disinfectant, using a specific mop

Weekly cleaning throughout three buildings includes:

• Sweep, vacuum, mop (as needed) all accessible floors (including office space, hallways, stairways, and event/meeting spaces)
• Clean and disinfect adult bathrooms, toilets, sinks, faucets
• Wash bathroom mirrors
• Empty bathroom trash/feminine product container
• Empty all staff garbage pails
• Dust, wipe down stainless steel, walls, handrails
• Check and clean windows as needed
• Check cleaning supplies in the janitor’s closet and let the Buildings/ Grounds Manager know when items are needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of and experience with proper handling and storage of chemicals, cleaning solutions, and hazardous waste according to applicable regulations and industry standards.
• Knowledge of when and how to utilize proper PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Ability to maintain cleaning closet areas and manage Safety Data Sheets so that cleaning products are safe and properly stored.
• Experience cleaning commercial facilities and or child care facilities, a plus.
• Able to manage and lift cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mop buckets, boxes of supplies etc.
• Must be able to pass a background check and obtain fingerprinting through the State of Vermont- Child Development Division (paid for by employer).
• Must have reliable transportation.
