Job Description
OVERVIEW
The DevOps II Engineer is responsible for designing, improving and supporting an efficient
infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, quality assurance, and development
environments throughout the development lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The essential duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Work is generally independent and on projects/matters of moderate complexity in a project role with some oversight.
Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging and deployment processes.
Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, monitoring.
Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality across functions.
Utilize experience and technical knowledge to make sound, independent judgement and make responsible decisions.
Demonstrate an innovative mindset by researching new technology ideas and solutions to share with direct teammates.
Embrace a fast-paced, team environment; collaborate with and seek guidance from DevOps III Engineers, as needed.
Investigate, interpret and explain complex and abstract security issues and vulnerabilities; remediate solutions as appropriate.
Provide guidance to other teams in the department regarding AWS and DevOps best practices.
Manage, implement, and make suggestions for improvements to the following company tools, solutions and platforms: CI/CD solutions using tools like CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, GitHub, etc.
Infrastructure as Code solutions like CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and Puppet.
Monitoring platforms like Splunk, Datadog, and CloudWatch.
Automation scripts using BASH, Python, etc.
Participate in on-call rotations to triage, troubleshoot and/or resolve critical production issues and problems of varying scope and complexity.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
