    Position Purpose:
    The Instructional Technology Specialist position will primarily focus on supporting the district’s vision of transforming teaching and learning by implementing technology tools to enhance curriculum, instructional delivery, and student learning.
    Essential Functions
    • Serves as a resource person for professional staff, building administrators, and technology coordinator for effective communication of technological issues and/or needs.
    • Manages and maintains a library of digital resources to meet the needs of all District stakeholders.
    • Develops support documentation and communicates important technology updates to District staff members.
    • Ability to provide staff development opportunities and provide additional instructional technology support to District staff and faculty during the contractual day and before/after school when appropriate.
    • Assists in the planning, preparation, and execution of District technology in-service programs.
    • Researches and evaluates new software, emerging technologies and assists appropriate professional staff members in the application of such technology into the curriculum.
    • Assists teachers and professional staff members in providing instruction to students about various digital multi-media techniques.
    • Schedules cooperative teaching sessions with professional staff members to model effective classroom techniques for teaching with technology.
    • Provides recommendations to the administrators regarding instructional technology best practices and future instructional technology initiatives.
    • Works with other educational entities and vendor representatives as appropriate.
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor of Online Learning and/or District Technology Coordinator.
    Additional Duties
    Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor of Online Learning, Tecnology Coordinator, Principal, and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

    Qualifications Profile:
    CERTIFICATION / LICENSE
    PA Teaching Certificate, required.
    PA Instructional Technology Specialist Certification, preferred
    Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
    EDUCATION
    Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to assignment.
    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
    Successful classroom instructional experience.
    Knowledge of Windows, MacOS, and iOS.
    Sound understanding of instructional pedagogy.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERTICE
    • Extensive experience with an aptitude for working in an Apple/Mac environment.
    • Prepare and professionally develop teachers to implement a teaching and learning environment, which combines classroom learning with online learning that is personalized to students
    • Provide support, technical expertise, and innovative professional development to compliment the district’s 1:1 iPad and staff MacBook initiatives.
    • Support the district’s ongoing implementation of learning management systems.
    • Support and develop teachers to integrate technology in course content, educational resources, assessments, and communication
    • Through research, will recommend and develop technology best-practices
    • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
    • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
    • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.

    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
    • Receipt of current, favorable clearances including: Pennsylvania State Criminal History (Act 34), Federal Criminal History (FBI – Fingerprinting - Act 114), Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Act 151), and Sexual Misconduct and Abuse Disclosures (Act 168).
