SUMMARY
Keeps designated institutional building(s) in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. On-Call.
Essential Duties Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by proper personnel.
- Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, surfaces, and trim.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, and other work areas.
- Sweeps floor.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
- Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenishes bathroom and cleaning supplies.
- Set up rooms for events.
- Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
- Removes snow from building entrances a minimum of ten (10) feet from bottom step.
- Performs other duties as necessary outside of assigned work area.
- Serves as a member of Business Affairs reporting directly to the Custodial Supervisor.
- Supervises student employees, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a self-starter, have ability to work independently, and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Experience working in multicultural academic environments preferred and individuals from diverse populations are encouraged to apply.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
