What You’ll Do:

Are you ready to elevate our machine learning backend architecture to the next level? We are seeking a Senior Backend API Product Engineer who will be instrumental in enhancing our API infrastructure for AI model integration and system optimization. In this key role, you'll be pivotal in developing and optimizing internal APIs that enhance product functionality and user engagement. Your technical expertise will be crucial in building scalable, high-performance backend solutions that support our dynamic product offerings. Join us in crafting the backbone that powers our technology, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence in our product ecosystem.

• Design and develop RESTful APIs using performant API frameworks such as Python Django and NodeJS.
• Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to adapt machine learning models into accessible APIs, focusing on extensibility and personalization.
• Develop and refine database schemas to efficiently handle data from diverse sources, ensuring scalability and responsiveness.
• Oversee the maintenance and advancement of backend infrastructure to support both new and existing AI models.
• Guarantee the reliability and efficiency of APIs throughout our technology stack.
• Work in tandem with creative and technical teams to enhance the quality of outputs across our product. 

Who You Are:

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• You bring 6 years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on backend systems.
• You have prior experience integrating machine learning models in a production environment.
• You have advanced knowledge of Python and Javascript, and have substantial experience with frameworks such as Django or Node.
• You are well-versed in handling various database systems like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and data lakes, and have a solid understanding of data architecture and API management.
• You have experience in deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Additional Valued Skills:

• Proficiency in optimizing large-scale systems for performance and scalability.
• You possess a robust interest in and understanding of machine learning technologies and their practical applications.
• Familiarity with the latest LLM models and APIs.
• Experience with YouTube APIs and YouTube/video performance data.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Culver City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $100K-$500K salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Spotter’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual discretionary bonus and equity.
