Job Summary and Qualifications

At Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, we are looking for a compassionate and reliable Admission Discharge Nurse. The Admission Discharge Nurse (A.D.N.) assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care delivered to the patients. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and completing the required assessments and documentation for the effective management of patients within the acute care hospital setting. A.D.N. will utilize their assessment skills to insure quality admission to the appropriate care areas, and also safe discharges of acute care patients requiring education and post hospitalization care. Handles routine admissions and discharges. We are an amazing, hardworking team who is looking for a phenomenal addition to our team. • You will communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
• Completes and facilitates the completion of required documentation, i.e., admission assessments, risk assessments, medication reconciliation, discharge teaching, discharge paperwork and post hospital documentation
• Receives physician orders for direct admissions and organizes admission process for patient
• Obtains a nursing assessment history, and insures proper inpatient care unit admission.
• Discusses information regarding patient with physician as indicated.
• You will perform job tasks to ensure patient, personal and departmental safety
• Instructing and educating patients and families is a daily responsibility
• Assist the Nursing Administration department with Throughput initiatives, such as timely admissions and discharges.

Requirements

• Must hold a current license from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact license with eligibility to practice in Virginia
• ADN degree required (BSN preferred)
• BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of acute experience
• Ability to successfully pass the required Virginia State Background check in order to float to the Behavioral Health Unit
