Job Summary:

To enable each child to pursue his/her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of his/her classroom teacher.
Essential Functions:

• Teaches the lessons as outlined by the teacher.
• Assumes responsibility for pupil behavior in class, during lunch and recess periods, and during fire or other disaster drills.
• Possesses an ability to work effectively with students at all levels and to establish and maintain good rapport while working closely with other teachers and administrators. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) along with a current TB test result or assessment.
• Preferred age of 21 years or older. If an applicant is under 21, please provide proof of enrollment in an education program.

Salary

Teacher Substitute Daily Rate:

• $80.00/day without a four-year degree
• $95.00/day with a four-year degree or higher or teacher certification

Long-Term Substitute Daily Rate:

• $135.00/day 
• $185.00/day with a teacher certification

Permanent Substitute Daily Rate:

• $135.00/day 

Paraeducator Daily Rate:

• $70.00/day

How to Apply:

Submit a current physician’s certificate valid within a year of application processing, indicating you are free of communicable tuberculosis. The test may be administered by your family doctor, or an appointment can be made with one of the local health departments for a nominal fee. The results of the TB skin test or assessment must be received before your application can be submitted to the School Board for approval.
