Position: Foreman / Superintendent

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia [Some local travel]

Position Summary:

The Foreman / Superintendent will act as the key on-site authority, overseeing and ensuring the meticulous planning, coordination, and execution of construction and maintenance activities, particularly within a SCADA environment. The ideal candidate will embody a balance of extensive industry knowledge and a keen eye for detail, ensuring projects consistently go beyond standard benchmarks.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the construction and maintenance field.
• Prior experience working in SCADA environments is a must.
• Strong leadership skills, with a proven record of leading large teams and projects.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications in construction, maintenance, or related fields are an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

• On-site Authority during Construction and Maintenance Activities: Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, making critical decisions and providing pivotal instructions. Monitor every facet of construction and maintenance to ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
• Direct Supervision and Coordination: Oversee the day-to-day activities of on-site teams, ensuring tasks are carried out seamlessly. Guide and mentor staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Adherence to Project Schedules: Establish clear benchmarks for project timelines. Monitor and evaluate progress consistently, implementing corrective actions as necessary to mitigate potential delays.
• Safety Protocol Implementation: Ensure the rigorous application of safety protocols, prioritizing the well-being of every individual on-site. Stay updated with the latest safety regulations and ensure compliance at all times.
• Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between on-site teams and project management. Regularly communicate with Project Managers to ensure synchronization of activities, optimal utilization of resources, and timely escalation of potential issues.
• SCADA Environment Responsibilities: Given the critical nature of SCADA systems, the Foreman / Superintendent will:
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SCADA hardware and software.
  • Ensure the security and reliability of SCADA communications and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with teams to integrate SCADA systems with other enterprise solutions.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and advancements in SCADA technologies.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure work aligns with design specifications and client requirements. Address discrepancies immediately to maintain project integrity.
