The world's leading enterprises use our unified security and observability platform to keep their digital systems secure and reliable. While customers love our technology, it's our people that make Splunk stand out as an amazing career destination and why we've won so many awards as a best place to work. If you become a Splunker, we want your whole, authentic self, what we call your "million data points". So bring your work experience, problem-solving skills and talent, of course, but also bring your joy, your passion and all the things that make you, you.

Role Summary

Do you enjoy solving sophisticated, technical security problems at scale? As a technical lead and people manager of the Developer Enablement team, you will work with various product development organizations to implement Secure Software Development Framework (NIST 800-218). Within this role, you will direct a team of dedicated security software engineers to develop groundbreaking software solutions that automate security scanning (SAST, SCA, DAST) and shorten vulnerability remediation cycles. You will also partner closely with Product Security and CI/CD engineering teams to integrate critical security tooling into the development pipelines, which helps thousands of software developers securely ship their products to market.

What you'll get to do

  • Set clear goals, objectives, and engineering priorities aligned with Splunk’s strategic direction.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor engineers in evaluating, crafting, and implementing new security software services.
  • Work with dynamic product teams to improve security processes, improve developer workflow, and raise security awareness.
  • Partner with customers, regulators, and compliance teams to build new security controls.

Must-have Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an engineering manager or technical project lead.
  • 5 years experience in DevOps, SRE, Security, or Software Development roles.
  • 3 years experience developing with one or more modern programming languages such as Golang, Java, React, C , and Python.
  • Experience implementing security tooling and automation within software build pipelines is a plus.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.
  • Experience in building and deploying in cloud native environments such as AWS is a bonus.
  • Security certifications from OWASP, SANS, or NIST is a plus.
