Spirit Maine's manufacturing facility has been a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for more than 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.

Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.


Spirit Maine is seeking detail-oriented and motivated Manufacturing Operators to join their Production team! These roles will be responsible for the supporting manufacturing needs and support/operate Loom equipment with on the job training.

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Loading/unloading, operate and monitor high temperature and high pressure equipment
  • Inspect products to ensure specifications are met
  • Perform mechanical maintenance of equipment
  • Perform data calculations
  • Recording of process data and manufacturing records for processes, parts and materials
  • Read, write and understand job specifications
  • Work in a team environment
  • Learn and apply Lean principles as part Continuous Improvement activities

What we need from you!

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 years of manufacturing experience and/or training preferred
  • Ability to obtain a U.S Clearance
  • Able to read, write and understand job specifications
  • Self-motivated and extremely driven
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable with computers
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physical repetitive motions
  • Ability to perform detailed visual inspections on processes
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, such as dust mask, respirator, protective clothing when necessary
  • Capable to work with minimal supervision
