This role will focus on:
We are currently seeking anEngineering Technician to join us at Watson-Marlow for the plastics molding andextrusion team. This role will be critical to the operational success of ourDevens Manufacturing Plant. To succeedin this role, it is important to be able to draw on your past experiences toprovide insights and contribute to the success of our quality first culture andworld-class operation.
What you’ll be doing
This position is with the plastics extrusion and molding team.
This is position will be in a clean room environment 80-90% of the time.
Complies with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety rules.
Maintains documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Ensures conformance to Watson-Marlow Quality Management System.
Work with the Plastics engineering team to identify improvement opportunities on the production floor, implement changes, and check effectiveness (PDCA)
Assists in resolving non-conforming material issues and support in root-cause and corrective actions.
Assist with EHS Program and Internal Auditing Program and conduct training as required.
Collects and Maintains data as to ensure effectiveness of Quality Management System
Assist all members of the production team and support/backfill as needed.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Should have an associate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience preferably in a plastic extrusion or molding production environment.
Must have a strong commitment to site excellence.
Clean room experience is a plus.
Passion for continuous improvement and desire to learn.
Excellent attention to detail
Knowledge of basic math and computer skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, specifications.
Strong organizational skills
Familiarity with ISO standards and its application in the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing environment is a plus.
Ability to properly use test and measurement equipment (i.e., calipers, micrometers, PI tape, coordinate measuring machine (CMM))
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift 30 pounds.
This position is a 4 day a week 10 hour a day position working Mon-Thu 5:00am-3:30pm
Work overtime as required.
