Spinnaker Solutions is Hiring an Electrical Estimator Near Mount Joy, PA

Title: Industrial Estimator
Location: Mount Joy, PA
Type: Full time 
Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 yearly
Spinnaker Solutions is currently looking for a Electrical Estimator for a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients! The Electrical Estimator prepares estimates to support project managers in bidding. This position is responsible for ensuring estimates are done on time and supports the achievement of established sales and financial objectives.
Education and/or Experience
  • Three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Industrial and/or Commercial electrical estimating is a MUST have.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Accountable to maintain an environment which adheres to safety, inclusiveness, career progression, teamwork, and customer focus.
    • Accountable to analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
    • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
    • Accountable to develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and value-added personnel.
    • Accountable to confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
    • Accountable to prepare estimates used by the director of estimating and project management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
    • Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
    • Selects and communicates to stakeholders the margin strategy for the project.
    • Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
    • Prepares and maintains a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Accountable to set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures that will be used for project review.
    • Accountable to conduct a handoff meeting to go over the items on the RSR Project Hand Off Form and make sure the project manager, foreman and safety manager are clear as to the expectations of the project.
    • Advises project manager for the duration of the project.
    • Accountable to be the subject matter expert for using Vista and Accubid.
    • Accountable to attend and contribute to the project debrief discussions.
    • Accountable to execute on assigned actions from the project debrief discussions.
    • Accountable to prepare electrical quotes for industrial and commercial applications.
    • Performs all other duties as requested.
    • Follows all company policies, procedures, and safety rules. Always conducts self in a professional, ethical, and courteous manner as a representative of the Company.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
  • Database software, Internet software, Estimating software, accounting software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Current driver’s license to travel to various customer locations and job sites or be able to provide own transportation.
