About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for experienced Food Servers to join the team at our newest venture, Diner Ross, at the LINQ in Las Vegas. The Food Server is responsible for guiding guests through and exceptional dining experience. The ideal candidate has a servant's heart, and is a hospitality professional. The ideal candidate will be tasked with ensuring all guests receive personalized attention and service. Upselling and recommendations are required by all servers, and ability to memorize food menu and allergies in order to make sound recommendations for our guests. Beverage knowledge of wines and champagnes is also required for this style of service. Vibrant, enthusiastic and professional personality traits are essential to the overall ambiance of our dining room. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about restaurant concept, inspiration and an excellent story-teller. Ability to manage multiple tables, prioritize, problem solve and frequent quality assurance checks on all their tables, to ensure guest experience is in line with the high-level service standards of restaurant. This position reports to manager on duty. This is a full-time position. 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver prompt, efficient and courteous service of food and beverages to guests in accordance with established standards.
  • Perform necessary tasks to service guests, i.e. taking and filling all food and drink orders and assisting in maintaining guests’ dining area in a clean and neat manner.
  • Upselling and recommendations for sides, add-ons, and substitutions,
  • Tour guide for our wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage choices.
  • Create a culinary adventure for our guests.
  • Utilize sales techniques to suggestively upsell.
  • Monitor guests’ needs on a continual basis, ensuring all requests will be promptly fulfilled.
  • Follow sanitation and table maintenance standards for amazing guest service.
  • Participate as an employee in producing a smoothly and efficiently run banquet event.
  • Assist other employees with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Make every effort to learn guest names and use names and celebrating special occasions
  • Taking part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties and side work as needed
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Required:

  • At least two years experience in a bar, lounge, nightclub or full service restaurant setting.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Working knowledge of all restaurant functions.
  • Working knowledge of tableside service.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a very high paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with other department employees and guests.
  • Effectively assist with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness.
  • A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality. 
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US
  • Successful background check clearance prior to hire
  • At least 21 years of age.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality driven restaurant or nightlife venue.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice/ theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours and ability to climb statues between levels in venue
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50lbs. And climb stairs as needed to move thru different levels of restaurant/venue
