Develop and cultivate contacts within area government and municipalities to advertise and market Spicer Group. Meet with potential or existing governmental clients to foster long-term relationships
Work with Spicer Group leadership to prepare and implement a regional business development plan. This includes working with service group leaders within the company to cross-sell all Spicer Group’s services
Plan for and attend a variety of public events such as conferences, trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and other client-related functions to represent Spicer Group. These may require work beyond typical business hours
Involved in the management and supervision of personnel including interviews, hiring, supervision, coordination, dismissal, etc.
Attendance at project meetings, public hearings, and gives presentations when required at interviews, meetings, events, etc.
Preparation of proposals on medium to large projects with subsequent project management responsibilities including budgeting, scheduling, resource management, directing team members, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines, and communicating with superiors, other consultants, and clients
Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for projects. Responsible for maintaining quality control for design, plans, specifications, and costs
Report writing and report production as well as oversight of report writing and report production by employees
Makes periodic visits to construction sites as appropriate to review conditions
Exercises creative foresight and mature engineering judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
Involvement in the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigations or inspections, detailed design work and detailed checking of design computations performed by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering preferred but municipal government-related education or experience is accepted
Registered Professional Engineer, or 8 years of progressive municipal infrastructure work experience
Minimum of 8 years of client and project-related experience with increasing responsibility
