Overview REPORTS TO: PROGRAM DIRECTOR, COMPASS at PS 15X & 291 LOCATION: 2195 Andrews Avenue, Bronx NY 10453 HOURS: Up to 18 Hours Per Week (Up to 35 Hours per week July 1 - August 16); Non-Exempt (Temporary Position ending August 16th) Job Summary: The Assistant Group Leader will support and assist staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for after school enrichment and recreational activities delivered both in-person and virtually. Major Duties: Assist the Group Leader and Activity Instructors with activities, including sports, movement, and recreation, educational activities and arts and craft in person and virtually. Collaborate with Group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment. Collect attendance folder and other data. Work with After School Program Director, Group Leader, or other designated Supervisor in carrying out special activities of the program. Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience working with children strongly preferred. Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with peers and participants. Demonstrated verbal, organization, and prioritization skills. Capability to transition easily between working independently with a high degree of self-initiative and working as part of a team. Complete required DOE & DOH clearances.
