Join our team:

As the successful Production Team lead you will be responsible for all activities at the seedhouse ensuring all activities, documentation and data entered is correct and follows established processes and procedures while meeting the customers expectations. The Production Team Lead will provide the required leadership and hands-on management of the team and equipment to fill all customer orders timely and meet their expectations while adhering to the budgeted cost. This includes planning and processes to improve productivity, efficiency while maintaining quality, safety and teamwork. Key responsibilities include ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety policies and regulations to promote a safe working environment.

The job details:

• Coordinate and maximize effective production and distribution of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and shipping while minimizing costs.
• Analyze challenges that arise and determine actions that will minimize/prevent future issues, decrease costs and/or improve yields. Recommend changes and upon approval, implement those changes and update required SOPs.
• Supervision of employees; duties include planning, scheduling, organizing and directing work, training personnel.
• As Safety Coordinator for your area, organize safety meetings and ensure that the safety measures are applied in order to protect employees
• Act as a role model, working alongside crew members, and demonstrate a positive work ethic.
• Develop and maintain a strong sense of teamwork among the crew members.
• Operate and perform minor maintenance on all seed house equipment.
• Seed house should be maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
• Ensure work projects are completed satisfactorily and safe working conditions are maintained at all times.

Minimum Required:

• High School Diploma / Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5 years relevant experience
• Bilingual (able to speak & write English/Spanish fluently)
• Clean criminal history and drug free
• Willingness to work nights and/or weekends when needed
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision, Self motivated
• Able to tolerate greenhouse elements such as heat, cold, water and dirt
