Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a LVN/LPN at Ft. Belvoir in Fairfax, VA

This position offers:

    Full-time opportunity, 40 hours per week

The Position will have the following requirements:

  • Graduate from a Vocational/Practical Nurse program approved by a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a clinical
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must be a Graduate of an accredited LPN Program by the legally designated State accrediting agency.
  • Active current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States.
  • Must maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Certified through the American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of referral procedures to include, Joint Commission requirements associated with referral tracking.
  • Thorough knowledge of patient's medical records, record test results, able to relay medical results to primary medical care providers regarding abnormal results condition, compile and submit data on number of results received per month.
  • Knowledge of applicable DOD, TRICARE, DEERS and DA MEDCOM policies and publications on Managed Care and the Supplemental Health Care Program a plus.

Key Duties Include

  • Provides direct care to patients within discipline Scope of Practice and performs functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing and/or competencies.
  • Administers medications as ordered. Medications may be given via the oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, ophthalmic, and other enteral and parenteral routes.
  • Performs prescreening and intake screening of patients newly arrived at the facility. Uses established intake tools for gathering subjective and objective data, referring abnormal findings or responses to a registered nurse, medical provider, dental provider, or behavioral health provers as appropriate.
  • Performs various treatments such as wound care, vital sign checks, electrocardiograms, etc. as ordered by a medical provider, dental provider, behavioral health provider, or registered nurse.
  • Collects laboratory specimens and performs point-of-care testing or prepares specimens for laboratory processing. Takes appropriate action on lab results received.
  • Thorough knowledge of patient's medical records, record test results, able to relay medical results to primary medical care providers regarding abnormal results condition, compile and submit data on number of results received per month.
