Job Description

Join Spectrum Healthcare Resources in an exhilarating opportunity for a civilian Dental Assistant at Naval Hospital Great Lakes in Waukegan, IL, where everyday presents new challenges and opportunities for growth.

In this dynamic role, you'll find yourself immersed in a fast-paced environment, delivering top-notch care to the brave Naval Cadets who entrust us with their health and well-being. Working alongside a dedicated team, you'll be at the forefront of military healthcare, making a tangible difference in the lives of those who serve our nation. 

This contract position offers:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Thriving environment and experience the rush of providing essential care to our Naval Cadets
  • Medical/Dental/Vision/401k
  • Benefits available and enjoy PTO and 11 paid Federal Holidays, recognizing your hard work and dedication to our mission

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Hold a Certificate or Associate Degree in dental assisting, obtained from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA), with at least 12 months of experience within the last 36 months.
  • Military expertise: Or Possess certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school, coupled with 12 months of experience within the preceding 36 months, showcasing your specialized skills in a military setting.
  • Radiographic proficiency: Be certified in radiography, with comprehensive training covering radiation physics, biology, health, safety, and protection, as well as digital radiographic processing techniques.
  • Experience: Demonstrate your prowess with six months of experience as a Dental Assistant post-graduation, highlighting your ability to excel in this critical role.
  • Lifesaving skills: Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, ensuring you're equipped to handle any situation that may arise.
