Job Title: Wellness RepresentativeDuration: 7 Months Location: 1701 Prudential Dr, Jacksonville, FL, 32207Schedule:-7:30 am - 4:30 pm est M-F
Summer Schedule (if approved) - 4 shifts/10 hours each (Friday off)
Holiday Breaks - Permitted to work remotely/on-site at Deerwood CampusNotes
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and represent the Workplace Wellness program.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Wellness Program offerings.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to plan and develop health and wellness initiatives using aggregate data from Personal Health Assessment, claims, predictive modeling, and regional demographics.
  • Monitor and evaluate health and wellness programs to determine and measure success towards strategic goals.
  • Coordinate with screening vendors, Client, and other dedicated resources to schedule, track participation, and promote health screenings at school sites.
  • Attend onsite health screenings and other wellness events.
  • Create and share wellness-related videos and presentations to inspire employees (must be comfortable with being on camera and public speaking).
  • Work collaboratively with the Employee Benefits Department and wellness ambassadors.
  • Keep employees informed about wellness initiatives by creating & disseminating monthly newsletter.
  • Experience working in Health Promotions

  • Duval County Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and self-motivated individual with experience in employee wellness programs and a passion for health promotion.
  • This onsite wellness coordinator role is dedicated to the Duval County Public Schools Health Plan and will be located at the Duval County Public Schools’ District Office Building, 1701 Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, FL.
  • This requires use of a personal vehicle for travel to facilitate and participate in group events and healthcare fairs up to 50%.
  • The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating wellness initiatives, facilitating group events, and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesProgram Representation
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and represent the Duval County Public Schools ’ Workplace Wellness program .
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Duval County Public Schools Workplace Wellness Program offerings.
  • Provide member referrals to disease management, Personal Health Advocate, case management, and/or other relevant wellness resources.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal and external departments and organizations that may provide value added programs or relevant resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee health related information per corporate policies and procedures.
Program Strategy
  • Work collaboratively with teams within Florida Blue and Duval County Public Schools to plan and develop health and wellness initiatives using aggregate data from Personal Health Assessment, claims, predictive modeling, and regional demographics.
  • Assist in completing an organizational assessment and implementation of written wellness plans.
Program Administration
  • Implement and administer health and wellness initiatives utilizing the existing resources to support the group’s risk reduction plan.
  • Monitor and evaluate health and wellness programs to determine and measure success towards strategic goals.
  • Assist with education and promotion of programs to maximize participation.
  • Complete other work as needed to support Duval County Public Schools’ Workplace Wellness Program.
Health Screenings & Event Coordination
  • Coordinate with screening vendors, Florida Blue, and other dedicated resources to schedule, track participation, and promote health screenings at school sites.
  • Attend onsite health screenings and other wellness events.
  • Communicate space and supplies requirements to schools. Ensure smooth logistics for screening events.
  • Send follow-up emails to participants.
  • Lead the planning and execution of the annual health fair. Collaborate with all team members for a successful event.
  • Prepare a comprehensive after-action report for senior leadership that outlines outcomes, challenges, and opportunities for future improvement.
Program Promotion
  • Wellness Incentive Program:
  • Organize quarterly raffles for incentive program participants. Coordinate grand prizes and testimonials.
  • Develop monthly marketing campaigns for program promotion and to drive participation. Engage employees through newsletters and other communication channels.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the program and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Wellness Challenges – minimum 2 per year:
  • Develop an informative guide for employees participating in the challenge.
  • Promote, track participation, and handle administrative tasks.
  • Analyze challenge outcomes and share insights with senior leadership.
  • Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP):
  • Work collaboratively to develop targeted campaigns to increase program participation.
  • Serve as the point of contact to escalate any program-related issues.
Wellness Videos & Presentations
  • Create and share wellness-related videos and presentations to inspire employees (must be comfortable with being on camera and public speaking).
  • Work collaboratively with the Employee Benefits Department and school wellness ambassadors.
Marketing & Communication :
  • Keep employees informed about wellness initiatives by creating & disseminating monthly newsletters that promote all the employee wellness programs offered.
  • Contribute wellness-related content to other employee communications.
  • Assist with the communication strategy by coordinating monthly newsletter topics with national health observances and other targeted initiatives.
Wellness Grants , Awards, and Committees
  • Research and apply for available wellness grants.
  • Apply for wellness awards to recognize outstanding achievements.
  • Serve as a committee member for the School Related Employee of the Year award.
  • Attend School Health Advisory Committee meetings to provide wellness insights and collaborate with other committee members.
Required Skills:
  • 4 years related work experience in the health promotion industry
  • Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, particularly with large groups
  • Proven basic knowledge of core wellness topics such as physical activity, nutrition, weight and stress
  • Proven experience using Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Travel to local Duval County Public Schools events and/or health fairs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with educational organizations
  • Experience with employee benefits, health care, and/or risk management
  • Master’s degree in Health promotion or a related field
  • Active in community and/or worksite health promotion
  • Effective facilitation, conflict management, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a group/team leadership role as well as an individual contributor
  • Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate in a group/team setting
  • Proven ability to set clear, actionable objectives and be able to package results and present ideas well
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and interpret relevant data
  • A certification from a national health-related organization such as WELCOA, WellCert, Wellcoaches®, CHES, ACSM or another similar organization.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
