Foothills Pediatric Dentistry is looking to add a dental assistant to our team-oriented, and patient-centered practice. We are lucky to work with fantastic doctors who care about their team as much as they care about their patients. We have been serving the community for over 20 years and truly love what we do. We are looking forward to completing our team with someone who brings an upbeat energy to work every day.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about providing the highest level of patient care, is reliable and self-motivated, wants to grow and expand their skill set, and, most importantly, someone who will jump in and help out anywhere to make the team better.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Preparing patients for dental work.
• Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
• Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
• Assisting Dentist with procedures when necessary.
• Providing great patient care.
• Recording treatment information in patient records.
• Exposing dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment.
• Giving patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
• Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Caring for dental equipment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of dental assisting experience is preferred 
• be self-motivated, organized, and have a positive attitude
• possess great understanding of dental terminology
• have excellent communication and written skills
• have excellent public relations skills
• work well with patients and team
• be experienced in delivering high-level customer service
• Committed to the position arriving on time daily and staying late as needed.
