Job Description

Job Description

Seeking to fill a full time Occupational Therapist position for a forensic treatment
agency. The agency serves a high need/high barrier adult population in the Los Angeles
area. Agency provides a variety of services that includes: mental health, substance
counseling, therapy, psychiatric and medication support, behavioral health, daily living
skills, and intensive case management services. We work closely with the courts and
the probation department. The ideal candidate is comfortable with working with this
population and is also comfortable with fieldwork. The OT will work as a member of a
multidisciplinary team delivering services at one of our Project Based housing, interim
housing, or clinic locations.

Duties:

* Provide occupational therapy services, including intake assessments, treatment
development, and intervention to clients

* Conduct OT assessment with clients and family/care givers. Develop recovery plan of
action and implement services towards recovery.

* Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with client and family members.
Assist clients, families, and significant others in understanding mental illness and
gaining their acceptance of and participation in their recovery and treatment
recommendations.

* Coordinate and implement group rehabilitation under the supervision of Clinical
Supervisor

* Coordinate services with various public and private community health, mental health,
and social service agencies to ensure appropriate services for clients.

* Participate, coordinate and implement cooperative arrangements and/or team
conferences with various inter-disciplinary team members in the development and
implementation of client’s treatment plan and aftercare plan.

* Provide coverage for other Project 180 locations as needed.

* Maintain and update client’s files and documentation in accordance with DMH and/or
DHS guidelines.

* Overtime, holiday or weekend work may be required

* Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Social Work Supervisor
and/or Director

Skills

* Must be technologically proficient

* Strong written/verbal communication and time management skills

* Preferred one year of direct service experience in a mental health setting which has an
interdisciplinary team approach
Notes

* Must have own transportation, valid California Driver License, and proof of automobile
insurance coverage. DMV record will be checked.

*Must be licensed or pending licensure
*Must be fully vaccinated for COVID 19

Job Type: Full-time

Salary range: $83,500.00 - $92,000.00 per year
