Special School District (SSD) is the hearing services provider for students throughout St. Louis County. As an audiometrist, you will conduct hearing screenings for children using specialized equipment and standardized protocols. You will interact with children and their caregivers, administering age-appropriate hearing tests, documenting results accurately, and communicating outcomes to families and educators. Your keen attention to detail, empathy, and commitment to ensuring accurate and reliable screening results will be pivotal in identifying potential hearing issues early, allowing for timely interventions and support, and empowering students to excel to their greatest potential.
Audiologists work during school hours, Monday through Friday. The start and end times and number of days worked each week will vary depending on testing needs. Audiometrists travel districtwide to provide testing where and as needed.
