Employment Specialist

Special Friends Foundation is seeking an Employment Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference working with a highly creative team building community integration opportunities for our participants. The Employment Specialist at SFF works within the PA ODP regulations for supported employment services and is responsible for corresponding documentation for all assigned individuals. The employment specialist will help people identify their talents and

passions and work with the larger team to create yearly plans and goals for your individuals. The work is a good balance of hands on working with people as well as time focused on documentation and strategizing with a broad team.

Experiential Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree OR Associate degree with one year of experience in human services preferred

• Current PA driver’s license with clean driving record

• Pass Pre-employment physical and PA State Police Background Check

• SFF will provide training to obtain the Professional Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services from the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) - if not currently ACRE certified

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Meet individuals during job development stage--providing job readiness assistance such as completing job applications and interview preparation.

• After participant is hired--meet at participant's place of employment--providing on the job coaching/training to enhance worker’s success

• Maintain positive working relationships with participants, families, and businesses and serve as a liaison between the worker and employer

• Ensure participants' safety at all times

• Attend Individual Support Plan and/or Individual Employment Plan meetings--as needed

• Complete daily progress notes in an accurate and timely manner

• Attend in-person professional development/team building trainings

• Support the mission and vision of Special Friends Foundation

• This is a part-time to full-time position as the caseload grows

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
