Market Counter team members will be responsible for all of the usual functions of a café: serving quality coffee & tea, fostering relationships with guests, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar and dining areas. In addition, team members will be responsible for selling a wide arrangement of pastries, desserts, sandwiches, salads and retail products. During down time team members will help maintain the market space by stocking shelves, dusting, wiping surfaces, and sweeping.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso and other beverages to guests
• Prepare and serve made to order salads and sandwiches as well as prep for grab n go station in market
• Prepare and serve online orders and catering orders such as sandwich trays, salads, dessert trays etc.
• Ability to use Toast POS and greet guests with a friendly demeanor and go above and beyond. Remember regulars’ names and orders etc.
• Basic floor service
• Customer service

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Availability to work Mon-Fri
• Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives, coffee makers, grinders and a cappuccino/espresso machine
• Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
• Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
• Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 30 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces
• Food & Beverage Service knowledge
