Capital Asset Specialist
OVERVIEW
The Capital Asset Specialist role is an internal resource for the facility and clinical services team to help drive, facilitate, and execute on capital planning and asset management services through building and maintaining a comprehensive multi-year outlook on capital planning decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads all clinical asset initiatives for designated facility
Provides analytical support for decision-making & strategic growth initiatives
Supports development of initiatives to reduce overall expenditures
Streamlines the clinical asset management process
Tracks trends, operational needs, benchmarking, and OEM data to build a long-term capital planning
Provides reports and dashboards to stakeholders regarding clinical asset optimization, financial reductions
Maintains data integrity and quality standards for effective benchmarking capabilities, purchasing decisions, asset lifecycle, and cost/benefit analysis
Supports the facility and department’s budgeting process for asset purchasing and identifying opportunities for reducing hospital CAPEX
Effectively anticipates clinical asset needs related to current and future purchasing decisions by evaluating current inventory and related data for optimal decision-making
Uses data and analytics to help drive decision-making for long-term strategic growth opportunities to ensure a more streamlined and cost-effective approach to purchasing and managing clinical equipment
Reviews purchase requisitions for proper information, authorization, and contract compliance
Processes vendor returns and ensures proper credits received, applied, or refunded
Monitors open purchase order to follow up on a scheduled basis
Completes requisition with purchasing information and coordinates with vendor
Maintains purchase order log
Utilizes CMMS to create, manage, and close purchase orders
Manages coordination between vendors and accounting for invoicing
Manages vendor/supplier relationships, including new vendor creation and coordination
Evaluates vendors in accordance with ISO: 9001 requirements and completes appropriate documentation
Coordinates with Operations on inventory and asset management
Other duties assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role or setting
Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience working in CMMS a plus
Demonstrated understanding and broad knowledge of medical device terminology
Strategic thinker with ability to make quick decisions
