Sparton Corporation is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Technician III Near De Leon, FL

Position Objective
This position is responsible for the fabrication, setup, maintenance and repair of test system equipment, fixtures and assemblies utilized in the manufacturing process.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Layout circuitry, assemble, fabricate, and repair test equipment used to verify manufacturing processes.
  • Design test aids, bench check equipment, troubleshoot to component level, diagnose, and repair most electronic, electromechanical and mechanical products.
  • Implement new equipment and parts into existing systems and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Building of new cabling and harnesses per provided schematics.
  • Maintain proficiency in use of hand and power tools, test instruments, and equipment required to perform duties.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians.
Required Education and Experience
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university or vocational school in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering related field OR a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years' experience in electronic, mechanical and custom wiring fabrication.
  • A minimum of 10 years of technical experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to read, understand and develop electrical and mechanical schematics for diagnosis and repair.
  • Develop and apply complex assembly, fabrication, various testing methods and procedures where complete specifications and details are often lacking.
  • Proficient in assembly, materials, methods and acceptance criteria required by IPC and J-STD standards.
  • Proficiency in the use of general and precision measuring devices (e.g. Multi-meters, oscilloscopes, calipers, micrometers, etc.) and associated calibration requirements.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, focused on improving safety and efficiency.
  • Must maintain continued high-quality standards and attention to detail.
