Summary
Position Summary
The Inventory Technician is responsible for the inventory of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room. This includes reviewing all supplies used in the previous day’s cases and requisitioning supplies delivered by sales representatives, consigned items, and stocked items needing to be replenished.
The Inventory Technician will routinely check shelf stock as well for anything that might need to be reordered. Duties may also include tracking ordered supplies until delivery to ensure availability for OR cases, implant tracking, processing item recalls, coordinating equipment repairs, and working with Purchasing to add vendors and supplies to Materials Management systems.
The Inventory Technician works in collaboration with Purchasing and Materials Management, Sterile Processing, and the Operating Room to ensure quality inventory control.
The Inventory Technician is also responsible for controlling expenses of supplies and staying within budget. The Inventory Technician may also serve as backup for the OR charge entry associate as needed

Education
High School education or equivalent
Experience
Entry level (0-3) years’ experience in a healthcare setting
