We are seeking a skilled and motivated Firewall Engineer II to join our team at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. As part of our supportive team, you will play a vital role in the administration of our Palo Alto Networks Next Generation firewall program. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, architecting, and implementing solutions to ensure the highest level of security and adherence to industry best practices and regulations across our various business units.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associates degree
• 5 – 10 years of network engineering experience Proficient in PMI Methodology
• Palo Alto firewall administration experience
• Works independently with minimal supervision
• License/Registration/Certifications: CCNA or Palo Alto PCNSA certification

Preferred Requirements:

• BS degree
• 10-15 years of network engineering experience
• Healthcare IT experience

Core Job Responsibilities:

Industry Awareness:

• Possess a solid understanding of industry regulations related to encryption, encapsulation, and data segregation for protected information.

Program Support:

• Support the senior firewall program engineer on daily tasks and service requests
• Create supporting documentation for processes

Project Resource

• Project resource to oversee the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of project related firewall demands

Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework

• Engage in discussions with technical peers on engineering and architectural discussions
• Create architectural drawings and other supporting documentation needs
• Create functional requirements and specification documentation

Security Liaison:

• Engage with IT Security on ensuring policies and best practices are executed and enforced

Communication:

• Cultivate strong relationships with team members to foster collaboration and productivity.
• Proactively identify misalignments and work towards consensus for appropriate actions, mitigating negative impacts.
