We are growing! Spartanburg Day School is currently seeking Preschool Assistant Teachers in our 2’s, 3’s and 4’s program for the 2024 -2025 school year. Spartanburg Day School opened its doors in 1957 as the first independent school in Upstate South Carolina. More than 65 years later, our unique community provides approximately 545 students in grades 2K-12with an unparalleled educational experience. The Preschool Assistant Teacher will support the planning, organizing and implementation of appropriate instructional programs that will contribute to the development of the children so they can learn and grow in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment. The Preschool Assistant will support the development and delivery of lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning, assist and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, arrange nap and snack times and supervise children to ensure safety.

The ideal candidate will possess a BA/BS degree in early childhood education from an accredited institution or related field preferred, qualified under current SC DSS regulations. Teaching experience in the preschool and/or early childhood environment and excellent understanding of child development and preschool educational methods.
