1. Continuously available on the manufacturing floor monitoring activities, auditing and handling various production problems. Ensures line runs safely with quality output and minimal downtime.
2. Assists line workers to complete planned production schedule and works the line to cover for breaks/lunches and absenteeism.
3. Troubleshoots when problems occur on the line. Confers with Production Leaders on any critical issues. Takes initiative for identifying areas of improvement within the department.
4. Assists with safety, housekeeping tasks, and 5S projects. Observes, corrects and documents unsafe work practices. Performs safety audits on routine basis. Maintains a housekeeping schedule and performs housekeeping audits and resolves issues.
5. Ensures a strong focus on quality and customer service among all team members. Understands the quality standards for all parts. Frequently audits in-process and completed product. Regularly communicates with quality auditors and quality facilitators.
6. Ensures the process control of the equipment is centered, maintained and standardized work is being followed. Communicate with process technicians for changes or needed support.
7. Audits routinely. Audits compliance with regard to work habits, PPE, company policies and procedures and recommends necessary changes to plant management.
8. Communicates with team management, support staff, other Team Leaders in person or electronically, to ensure current knowledge of critical part shortages, production constraints, and critical repair items.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
10. Supervises team members on the shift in a Working Team Lead capacity. Reports to Production Leader and/or Facilitator: quality, productivity and safety issues; team functional issues; Company policy compliance issues; day-to-day work habit/work performance issues; overall shift priority issues between teams and support groups; shift performance issues; training needs; and staffing needs to control labor costs.
11. Assists in team member training and building/maintaining strong teamwork.
12. In consultation with other team management, provides input into team member performance, including disciplinary actions, ongoing performance feedback, and performance appraisals.
13. Completes employee evaluations in a timely manner and provide feedback to employee.

• Familiarity with computers and e-mail programs.
• Basic math skills. Ability to: 1) complete quality checks, process checks, and adjustment processes; and
  2) sort, check, count and verify numbers.

• Basic oral and written communications skills. Ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written) information, questions, and suggestions so they can be understood by others.

• Ability to utilize knowledge and experience to identify the source of a problem and follow set guidelines or procedures to resolve the problem, and know when to escalate the problem to management.

• Basic supervisory skills. Ability to effectively plan daily work activities, schedule staff, provide guidance/support and train line production staff.

Physical Demands:

• Stand at a work station or walk on the plant floor for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry product, supplies, and materials up to fifty (50) pounds without assistance. Objects over fifty (50) pounds will require the assistance of other staff or mechanical assistance. Weights of fifty (50) pounds are lifted on an occasional basis while weights of thirty (30) pounds are frequently lifted during the course of an eight (8) hour shift.
• Stooping, bending, standing, pushing, pulling, when moving equipment and operating machinery.

Work Environment: Working conditions in the plant include: hot temperatures in the summer and cool temperatures in the winter, and noise is continuous/excessive.
