Job Summary / Company :

Sparks Group has teamed up with its banking client and is searching for a proactive Collections Specialist. They will be responsible to contact members who have delinquent real estate and consumer accounts for the purposes of collecting these delinquencies and negotiating payment terms in compliance with departmental standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities :

• Manage all inbound and outbound calls for collections, process refunds and credit memos
• Initiates appropriate follow-up activity on delinquent accounts and maintains on-line chronological records of all facts, information developed, and actions taken
• Provides financial counseling and assistance to members who are experiencing financial difficulties
• Prepare billing invoices and necessary documentation required by customers
• Ensure all invoices are posted into the accounting system accurately
• Monitor all costs, review billing for accuracy, and support monthly accounting close schedule

Qualifications / Background Profile :

• High School or GED
• 3 years of collection experience in a financial institution
• 1 year in Mortgage Loss Mitigation / Collections / Default Servicing / Financial Services and MI regulations
• Experience with and an in-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding bankruptcy, repossession, foreclosure, loss mitigation, litigation, and other collection activities
• Ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers and provide excellent support to client
• Ability to multi-task; prioritize and manage a large range of responsibilities
• Solid analytical, technical and customer service skills
