Job Overview:

Spark Montessori School is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Summer Camp Lead Guide. Spark Montessori School is an authentic Montessori school that seeks a Lead Teacher for our Summer Camp program. Our camp will serve children aged 6 - 9 years of age and will be held in Horner Park and in our Montessori school. Spark Montessori School has an outdoor program and we value the benefits of children spending ample time outdoors and exploring the natural world. Many of the children enrolling in the camp will be graduates of our school.

Summer camp runs for 9 weeks from June 10, 2024 through August 16, 2024 with vacation time for the week of July 1-, 2024. The Camp Lead will spend the week of June 3-7, 2024 planning for the camp. The hours are 7:45 - 3:30 each day. Enrollment options are for full weeks and parents can choose which weeks they wish to attend. Mornings will be spent in Horner Park, followed by lunch and an afternoon group project in our school. Projects and themes inspired by nature are changed each week and extend the children’s experiences outdoors.

Duties:

• Responsible for creating a fun and engaging environment for children while ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for camp participants
• Supervise children during camp activities, ensuring their safety at all times
• Provide guidance and support to camp participants, promoting positive behavior
• Organize and setup of camp equipment and materials
• Collaborate with other camp staff to create a cohesive and enjoyable experience for all participants
• Communicate with parents/guardians and the admin team regarding camp updates, concerns, or incidents
• Promote positive stewardship of Horner Park

Credential Requirements:

• Prior experience working with children
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• 3 written character references

Compensation:

Compensation will be competitive and based on experience
