Full job description

About the Role

We are offering a full-time position based in the beautiful city of Miami, Florida. The compensation package is designed to reward experience and expertise. In addition to the competitive salary, we also offer an incentive-based profit-sharing program, further enhancing your earning potential. This comprehensive compensation structure ensures that your dedication and contributions to our company are recognized and rewarded.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimate Development & McCormick Estimating Tool Usage: Develop cost projections for large commercial and industrial electrical projects (up to $10,000,000) using the McCormick Estimating tool.
  • Bid Preparation & Evaluation: Read and interpret job plans and specifications to prepare detailed proposals for bid submission. Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Client & Vendor Communication: Clarify bid documents, prepare RFIs, and provide post-bid follow-up to negotiate scope and pricing with clients. Manage relationships with vendors to ensure multiple bids in each area of the requested material.
  • Collaboration with Project Coordinators: Interact with the Project coordinator and construction team throughout the project as needed. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members.
  • Change Order Management: Effectively create, manage, and track change orders.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain well-organized bid documents and project records related to cost estimation.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and competitor pricing.
  • Multi-tasking: Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

Skills Required:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years in Electrical Estimating.
  • Plan Reading: Proficiency in reading plans and specifications.
  • Computer Skills: Strong skills in Excel, Word, and McCormick Estimating Software.
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with limited supervision.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and interpret technical documents.
  • Detail Orientation: Precision and accuracy in calculations and estimations.
  • Technical Expertise: Understanding of the electrical industry, materials, and processes.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating prices with suppliers and contractors.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify potential issues and devise solutions.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with estimation software and tools, such as the McCormick Estimating tool, and CAD programs.
  • Mathematical Skills: Strong numerical skills for accurate calculations and estimations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
