Description
Summary: Responsible for ensuring that all time and attendance and payroll information is accurate, and that paychecks and reports are issued on time. Responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs. Including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 403B plan.
Essential Job Functions:
· Processes bi-weekly payroll including wage and overtime payments, calculations and recording of payroll deductions including benefits, and requests for paycheck advances.
· Verifies timekeeping records, maintains time and attendance records using electronic time management system.
· Reviews payroll before finalizing to ensure accuracy.
· Prepares and transfers payroll checks.
· Prepares and transmits direct deposits.
· Generates and verifies payroll reports out of payroll system.
· Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
· Reconciles quarter-end and year-end reports.
· Inputs and reconciles all employee annual benefit changes and off cycle changes
· Verifies and reconciles W2s prior to issuance.
· Sets up garnishments and levies, processes off-cycle manual checks and termination pay checks.
· Maintains direct deposit documentation, pre-note processes and system data.
· Trains employees and managers on use of the time keeping system.
· Maintains notification processes to employees and managers, resolves employee access issues and other questions in a timely manner.
· Documents and updates written payroll procedures.
· Maintains payroll documentation and files.
· Provide Customer Service.
· Serves as back-up to common Business office tasks.
· Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Required Education/Experience:
This role requires strong organization & time management skills with an emphasis on customer service. High School diploma required and Two years of experience in Benefits Administration or Human Resources preferred.
Pre-Employment Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
• Ability to determine appropriate course of action in complex situations.
• Advanced knowledge of payroll processes including tax deduction requirements and other payroll related deductions.
• Expert skill in the operation of various computer applications, standard office machines, utilize e-mail for appropriate communication and follow-up.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to calculate figures and amount, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
• Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration.
• Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians or others in a professional manner.
