Overview

The Manager, Technical Accounting, will participate in projects related to acquisitions, revenue recognition, divestitures, other technical accounting areas/issues, financial reporting and implementation of accounting policies. On a project basis, perform in-depth evaluations to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical research on accounting issues and new accounting standards impacting the financial reporting process. Remain highly current on all accounting pronouncements.
• Assist in the accounting and reporting of acquired businesses.
• Assist in the on-going monitoring of new and recent accounting standards.
• Update and prepare accounting policy and process documentation.
• Prepare and document information included in interim and annual financial statements and earnings releases.
• Other projects may include purchase accounting, process improvement efforts related to accounting and financial reporting and preparing documentation supporting accounting conclusions.
• Providing required documentation/support to external auditors for their quarterly reviews and year end audits

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years Accounting and/or Finance experience required
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting preferred
• CPA required
• Minimum of three years working with public clients and SEC reporting required
• Excellent knowledge of SEC rules and regulations, as well as US GAAP
• Financial analysis skills
• Excellent organization and planning skills, attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
• Excellent people management skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Knowledge of other International Generally Accepted Accounting Principles a plus
• Analytical-minded
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership
• Demonstrated excellent knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices with ability to apply them in a business analysis situation
• Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business, while meeting deadlines
• Track record of identifying process improvements and making appropriate recommendations
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain productive working relationships cross- functionally
• Prior experience with Hyperion Planning and Infinium (AS400) a plus
